2020-2021 START OF SCHOOL

It is with grateful hearts that we prepare for a year filled with in-person community. We continue to remain flexible during this ever-evolving environment and are committed to providing the best experience possible for our students.

WHAT TO EXPECT

A Phased Approach to An In-Person Year

  • All families have been assigned to either cohort A or B within their grade level
  • On August 31st, the academic year will begin with a two-week remote onramp followed by a phased schedule of in-person instruction by cohort.

Enhanced Safety & Cleaning Protocols

  • New arrival procedures including safety screen, temperature check, and hand washing station.
  • Face coverings must be worn while on campus except while eating or drinking.
  • Social Distancing of 6 ft. must be maintained
  • Updated directional signs in hallways and walking areas

 

  • Additional cleaning procedures set in place
  • HEPA filters being installed in all classrooms
  • New handwashing stations and sanitizing dispensers installed throughout campus
  • Protective shields in our welcome center and reception areas in various office locations

  • Visitors & Guests on campus will be significantly limited to essential activity only during school hours. Non-students and/or non-employees, including parents, should receive prior approval from a member of school leadership in order to be cleared to be on campus.

Will Athletics and Programs resume this fall?

We are excited to announce that our phased approach for returning to athletics and other program-related activities will begin during the week of August 31st. For detailed information please click here.

Do I need any documents or waivers prepared before entering the campus?

All enrolled families must submit the electronic Informed Consent form (found HERE) by Monday, August 24 in order to be on campus for their assigned Lancer Kick-Off Day and attend classes on-ground starting on August 31.

What if I have yet to finish the re-enrollment process?

We understand that many of our OLu families have been impacted by this pandemic in many ways. If you have not yet completed the enrollment process for the current 2020-21 school year, we encourage you to do so as soon as possible so that we can secure your student’s schedule.

The OLu Experience at Your Fingertips

A leader in Christian online education for over 20 years, Orange Lutheran Online (OLO) brings the Orange Lutheran experience and incredible flexibility to students on campus and worldwide. With over 50 courses to choose from in a wide variety of disciplines, including core courses that are NCAA and UC-approved as well as honors and Advanced Placement (AP) courses, OLO makes obtaining a high school diploma more convenient than ever before.

 

Students may enroll for a single course, a combination of online and on-campus classes, or as a full-time online student. All OLO courses mirror the academic structure and teaching methods of traditional classroom learning, but with a convenient and flexible format at a reduced tuition rate.

Bringing Glory to God, On and Off the Field, Pool, Rink, Court, or Mat

Known for a long tradition of athletic excellence, Orange Lutheran student-athletes compete at the highest levels of high school sports in the country as part of the Trinity League. Each of our 24 athletic programs focuses on faith and character development while bringing honor and glory to God. Top-of-the-line athletic facilities combined with cutting-edge training technology help athletes safely reach optimal physical performance. Orange Lutheran athletes continue to draw the attention of top college recruiters and professional scouts, and since 2010, nearly 400 student-athletes have signed National Letters of Intent to compete at the collegiate level. Orange Lutheran alumni have also competed in the MLB, NFL, NBA, and the Olympic Games.

Programs to Support Each Artist’s Journey

Performing Arts

Programs and classroom experiences, along with dedicated spaces for orchestra, choirs, small ensembles, and stage actors, focus on the development of intellectual and critical abilities to empower young artists of all disciplines. Our faculty and staff provide a unique means of student expression through award-winning visual, vocal, instrumental, dance, and theatrical productions that capture their passions and emotions. Orange Lutheran is renowned for its ability to prepare graduates for career and artistic success via master classes, mentorships, and guest performances.

 

Visual & Media Arts

The Visual and Media Arts program at Orange Lutheran provides a rich environment for all students to cultivate their creative talents, develop visual literacy, and elevate critical thinking skills. With media-specific facilities and 18 distinct courses, students can engage in drawing, painting, sculpture, design, photography, and more. Two on-campus galleries, Gallery500 and the Nechita Gallery, offer serene exhibit space with multiple shows throughout the school year. Orange Lutheran students have been recognized for their creativity locally, nationally, and internationally. Recent graduates have continued their study at the nation’s top art colleges including Laguna College of Art & Design, Otis, Parsons, and RISD.

OLu Missions engages students in service through outreach and combining on-campus ministries with coursework. A unique blend of local engagement, international and domestic partnership, and in-class learning creates a rich environment for students to share, demonstrate, and experience Christ’s love. These experiences provide unforgettable opportunities for students to learn how to effectively work across cultural, religious, and socioeconomic boundaries while allowing them to put their skills to practice.

Fellowship Beyond the Classroom

No matter what you’re interested in, Orange Lutheran has something for you through clubs, activities, electives, and more. Each child is blessed by God with unique gifts, and students at Orange Lutheran have the opportunity to participate in multiple activities outside the classroom to explore and strengthen those gifts while connecting with others.
