Orange Lutheran continues to closely monitor the evolving situation related to COVID-19 (coronavirus) and evaluate the outbreak’s impact on both the school and the community at large in accordance with recommendations from local, state, and national government organizations and health agencies. The health and safety of all members of our community are, as always, of the utmost importance.

At this time, there are no known or suspected cases at Orange Lutheran High School.

Fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you, I will help you, I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.

Isaiah 41:10

Campus Closure Status

Orange Lutheran Administration has made the decision to close the physical campus for students and transition to remote learning beginning Tuesday, March 17, 2020. Students are not scheduled to attend classes Friday, March 13 and Monday, March 16, as originally planned at the beginning of the school year. The first day of remote learning instruction was Tuesday, March 17. All activities and events, including athletics, have been postponed until further notice. This includes games, practices, rehearsals, study sessions, travel, and similar activities.

It is crucial that students adhere to the executive order by staying home and restricting contact to members of their own household in order to protect the health of all members of our community and to save lives.

Return to Campus Updates:

  • In light of new information, OLu administration has decided to extend the return to campus date beyond the April 6, 2020 date that was originally communicated.
  • While a specific return-to-campus date is undefined at this time, administration will continue to reevaluate as new information becomes available.
  • While the safety and health of our students, faculty, and staff remain the priority, administration will make all attempts to return students to campus as soon as it is safe to do so.
  • Easter Break, scheduled for April 10-17, will continue as planned, meaning that classes will not be held. Classes will resume remotely on Monday, April 20.

Campus was open to students to retrieve personal items on March 16 and 17. After March 17, and in compliance with Governor Newsom’s order issued on March 19, access to the campus is restricted to essential employees only. Our critical school services to continue to operate and remain accessible through remote means. Details and instructions regarding accessing and engaging remote learning platforms and contacting faculty were communicated to your family on Monday, March 16.

Beginning March 19, all families will receive a Community Update email on Mondays and Thursdays until normal on-campus operations resume. Updates are linked below. Critical and timely information will be sent out immediately when appropriate. While our community and world at large did not expect to be in this position at this time, we thank you for your patience, understanding, and ongoing prayers.
