Orange Lutheran continues to closely monitor the evolving situation related to COVID-19 (coronavirus) and evaluate the outbreak’s impact on both the school and the community at large in accordance with recommendations from local, state, and national government organizations and health agencies. The health and safety of all members of our community are, as always, of the utmost importance.

At this time, there are no known or suspected cases at Orange Lutheran High School.

Yahoo/AOL/Hotmail/MSN Email Issue: We continue to receive reports from families not receiving (or experiencing delays in receiving) emails to Yahoo, AOL, Hotmail/MSN email addresses when sent from faculty, staff, or administrators (@lhsoc.org) email addresses. The emails may be delayed or not delivered at all, and the issue stems from the email provider and is outside of Orange Lutheran’s control. If you have one of these email addresses, please complete this form so that we can ensure that all messages are being received.

Return to Campus Updates

Intention to Return in August: As announced on May 21 (click here for announcement) and July 14 (click here for announcement), it is our full intention to return to campus in mid-August as planned. Please know that the Orange Lutheran administration is focused on planning for a safe return to campus for all students and has created multiple options that allow families to choose the learning environment that works best for them and their student(s). We ask for your flexibility, patience, and prayers as we continue to evaluate the evolving situation.

 

2020-21 Enrollment: We understand that many of our OLu families have been impacted by this pandemic in many ways. We also understand that some families may be concerned about 2020-21 enrollment. We want you to know that Orange Lutheran is here for you.

 

2020-21 Tuition Refund Policy: We have modified our tuition refund policy for the 2020-21 school year.

  • If you need to withdraw prior to the beginning of school in August, we will refund 100% of any tuition paid.
  • However, if you are struggling or considering withdrawing your student for any reason, you are strongly encouraged to reach out to the Response Team (responseteam@lhsoc.org) first. We are committed to getting through this crisis together as a community and will do everything we can to make sure all of our Lancers are back in the fall.

 

Athletics: A phased approach to reopening athletics has been suspended as of July 7. All in-person athletic activities are cancelled until further notice. Click here to read the announcement.

 

Employees: In conjunction with student-athletes returning to campus, all employees must complete a series of safety and procedural trainings and agreements before they will be able to return to work on campus, effective June 22. Employees will be required to complete a daily self-assessment of their health at home and will undergo an additional health screening upon arrival on campus each day before being able to proceed to their workspace. All employees will be required to social distance, use face coverings, and practice frequent hand washing and sanitization. Employees are encouraged to routinely clean frequently touched surfaces in their workspace, such as computers, mice, telephones, light switches, and doorknobs, and will be provided with cleaning wipes. All workstations will be thoroughly cleaned by a professional cleaning crew each night. Additional information was sent to all employees on June 19.

 

Since March 19, all families have been sent a Community Update email on Mondays and Thursdays and will continue to receive these emails until normal on-campus operations resume. Community Updates will only be sent on Thursdays starting on May 28. The emails are linked below. If you are not receiving these emails, please check your promotions and/or spam folders. Critical and timely information will be sent out immediately when appropriate. While our community and world at large did not expect to be in this position at this time, we thank you for your patience, understanding, and ongoing prayers.
