Breaking Barriers to Private Education

Orange Lutheran’s comprehensive, need-based financial assistance program allows all Lancers to be prepared and strengthened for a Christian life of purpose, service, and leadership in a global society. Through need-based financial aid, over $3.5 million is awarded in tuition assistance each year to ensure that the OLu Experience is accessible to everyone. We are determined to meet each family where they are so that an education at Orange Lutheran can be a part of their story.

Financial Responsibility

FINANCIAL RESPONSIBILITY

A partnership between Orange Lutheran High School and the parent(s)/guardian(s) for the duration of the student’s matriculation at our school.

Our Commitment:  Orange Lutheran High School will provide facilities, faculty, and staff to produce the best educational experience possible for your student.  Orange Lutheran High School prioritizes the development of well-balanced students who are strengthened and prepared not only for college but for a Christian life of purpose in a global society.

Parent/Guardian Commitment:  Students have the best opportunity for success when parents, church, and school partner in establishing clear communication and enforcing healthy boundaries. To enhance this partnership, it is the responsibility of the parent to read and reinforce the school’s expectations and policies outlined in the Parent Student Handbook. Continued enrollment for your student is contingent upon maintaining a current tuition and fees account in good standing, as well as to provide ongoing support and respect of school philosophies, beliefs, policies, procedures, administrators, faculty and staff.

We want to see your student flourish at Orange Lutheran High School and we will do everything possible to ensure he/she remains a Lancer for Life. However, failure to meet your commitment to maintain a current financial account will impact your student. A past due account may result in late fees, disqualification from participating in school activities and athletics, and removal from classes until the account is brought current. If the account is not brought current within the terms provided by Orange Lutheran High School Student Accounts, your student’s enrollment status may be revoked.

CONTINUOUS ENROLLMENT

Orange Lutheran deploys a continuous enrollment model which provides families a single contract for your student’s tenure at Orange Lutheran High School. This process is rooted in our desire to make the enrollment experience easier for our families by removing the need to complete re-enrollment steps on an annual basis. Both your selected tuition payment plan and your learning model (traditional on-campus, blended, or full-time online) will default to the existing elections present for the current school year. Any changes to your payment plan must be requested through the Student Accounts office. Learning model changes must be requested through the Counseling office.

FINANCIAL ACCOUNT

FACTS Tuition Management is the school’s tuition management system used to manage your financial account. FACTS allows parents/guardians to track tuition, incidental fees, account balance, process tuition and fee payments as well as apply for financial aid. Please note: your contract is not an application for financial aid. It is your responsibility to apply for financial aid annually, as needed.

Parent(s)/Guardian(s) are required to maintain a FACTS account for payment of your student’s tuition and any incidental fees regardless of your chosen payment plan. All payments must be made timely pursuant to due dates. Families who elect to pay via cash or check must also maintain a FACTS account and keep it up to date to include contact and demographic information.

FINANCIAL ACCOUNT RECONCILIATION FOR WITHDRAWALS

DOMESTIC STUDENTS:

Your financial account will be reviewed at the time of withdrawal to identify any balance or refund due. All participation and/or incidental fees are non-refundable and non-transferrable including the school’s annual enrollment fee. Any balance or refund due will be calculated based on a monthly rate commencing the previous May (of any given year) through the date of withdrawal regardless of payment plan (monthly, semester or annual) or date of completed enrollment.

The following table outlines parent(s)/guardian(s) financial responsibility for student tuition at the time of withdrawal:

Responsibility First Semester Second Semester
0% through June 30th through November 30th
50%* July 1st until first day of class December 1st until first day of class
100%* 1st day of class or after 1st day of class or after

*Percentage of calculated monthly tuition from May through the month of withdrawal.

Other Considerations:

  • All outstanding balances will be due, in full, upon withdrawal.
  • Allow up to six weeks to receive a refund (if applicable)

INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS:

No refunds will be issued. Any outstanding balances identified through the process of withdrawing your student will be due, in full, upon withdrawal.

ENROLLMENT TERMS & CONDITIONS

DOMESTIC STUDENTS

Read these Terms and Conditions carefully before signing the Enrollment Contract.

  1. The school will correspond with the primary signer of the Enrollment Contract for all financial matters. Should you require a secondary party to receive communications concerning your student’s financial account, please contact the Student Accounts office.
  2. Removing your student from the school for any portion of the term of the Enrollment Contract, or by failing to enroll the student after executing the contract, will have breached the Enrollment Contract and materially alter the position of the school. 3. The signer of the Enrollment Contract must make timely tuition and fee payments when due. Failure to meet all financial deadlines will result in dismissal of the student and/or suspension of instruction to the student, unless evidence is presented in advance, in writing, that financial arrangements satisfactory to the school have been made to meet the full obligation for tuition and fees.

Tuition & Financial Aid FAQ

Orange Lutheran High School was founded in 1973 by an association of Lutheran churches. Orange Lutheran is governed by delegates from the Association which also elects our Board of Directors. Students verified as members by one of our Association churches receive discounted tuition, which is partially subsidized by the Association churches and re-verified annually. The annual verification process is initiated by Orange Lutheran based on students enrolling and indicating that they are members of one of our Association churches. Each Association church has different criteria for verifying members, but the criteria generally includes regular worship, involvement and service, and regular tithing.

Orange Lutheran’s Board of Directors is pleased to earmark over $3 million annually for need-based financial assistance, which assists nearly 500 families. We also offer a limited number of scholarships. Please see the Scholarships section for more information.

No, financial assistance does not need to be repaid as long as the service hour requirement is met. We do insist each family volunteer at least 12 hours at our Orange Lutheran Thrift Shop for each student receiving aid. This ministry provides a large portion of funds for our financial assistance program.

The financial aid application will be available beginning September 1 of each year.

Yes. Families must re-apply for financial assistance each year.

Calculating your Tuition Balance (example based on 2023-2024 tuition rates)

Upon receipt of your financial aid award, you can estimate your monthly tuition amount.  Your award will be subtracted from the annual tuition rate of either:

Association         $17,755

Non-Association    $19,555

Families receiving need-based financial aid are eligible to make monthly payments at no additional charge. Monthly payments begin in May and continue through April of the following year.

For example, if you are an Association member and receive $2,135 in financial aid, your monthly tuition payment will be:

Tuition        $17,755

Less Fin. Aid  ($ 2,135)

Balance    $15,620 / 12 months = $1,302 per month, starting in May.

If awarded financial aid, textbooks and iPads are not provided by Orange Lutheran High School. We ask that families plan ahead and purchase their own school supplies for the fall semester.
