Modified Tuition Refund Policy: In response to the uncertainty caused by the pandemic, we have modified our tuition refund policy for the 2020-21 school year.

  • If you need to withdraw prior to the beginning of school in August, we will refund 100% of any tuition paid.
  • If you are struggling or considering withdrawal for any reason, you are strongly encouraged to reach out to the Response Team (responseteam@lhsoc.org) first. We are committed to getting through this crisis together as a community and will do everything we can to make sure all Lancers are back in the fall.

Expanded Learning Offerings: On July 14, Orange Lutheran announced expanded learning offerings for the 2020-21 school year. Families are encouraged to contact summercounselor@lhsoc.org with questions or concerns, as well as to modify their existing schedule if desired.

SCHOLARSHIPS

Orange Lutheran High School is pleased to offer a limited number of scholarship opportunities. Funding of scholarships is contingent upon acceptance and students must maintain good attendance and remain in good academic and disciplinary standing to remain eligible.

Partner In Ministry Scholarship

Eligibility

  • For students whose parent or legal guardian work at least 30 hours per week for a qualified Bible-based Christian church and/or school that shares Orange Lutheran’s educational and spiritual values.

  • $4,750 annually (amount effective Fall 2020) based on current employment verification

Lancer Alumni Scholarship

FINANCIAL AID

When considering an Orange Lutheran High School education, our Financial Aid committee is here to help make it a reality. We are committed to providing a comprehensive need-based program of financial aid along with a limited number of scholarships that make it possible for all admitted students to attend. With over $2.5 million in financial aid plus scholarships distributed annually, Orange Lutheran continues to fulfill its mission and vision of raising up extraordinary young men and women for a Christian life of purpose, service, and leadership.

As a requirement of receiving financial aid, we request each family volunteer at least 10 hours at our Orange Lutheran Thrift Shop per student receiving aid. This ministry provides a large portion of funds for our financial assistance program.

The mission of the Orange Lutheran Thrift Shop is to support the Christian character and education of Orange Lutheran High School students through financial assistance and reach out through ministry to our community.

TUITION & FINANCIAL AID FAQ

WHAT DOES "ASSOCIATION" MEAN?

Orange Lutheran High School was founded in 1973 by an association of Lutheran churches. Orange Lutheran is governed by delegates from the Association which also elects our Board of Directors. Students verified as members by one of our Association churches receive discounted tuition, which is partially subsidized by the Association churches and re-verified annually. The annual verification process is initiated by Orange Lutheran based on students enrolling and indicating that they are members of one of our Association churches. Each Association church has different criteria for verifying members, but the criteria generally includes regular worship, involvement and service, and regular tithing.

WHAT KIND OF SCHOLARSHIPS AND FINANCIAL AID DOES ORANGE LUTHERAN OFFER?

Orange Lutheran’s Board of Directors is pleased to earmark over $2.5 million annually for need-based financial assistance. This program assists nearly 500 families. We also offer a limited number of scholarships. Please see the Scholarships section for more information.

DOES THE FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE NEED TO BE REPAID?

DO I NEED TO APPLY FOR FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE EVERY YEAR?

Yes. Families must re-apply for financial assistance each year.

IF I RECEIVE ASSISTANCE, HOW DO I CALCULATE MY MONTHLY PAYMENTS?

Calculating your Tuition Balance (example based on 2020-2021 tuition rates)

Upon receipt of your financial aid award, you can estimate your monthly tuition amount.  Your award will be subtracted from the annual tuition rate of either:

Association         $15,575

Non-Association    $17,450

Families receiving need-based financial aid are eligible to make monthly payments at no additional charge. Monthly payments begin in May and continue through April of the following year.

For example, if you are an Association member and receive $2,135 in financial aid, your monthly tuition payment will be:

Tuition        $15,575

Less Fin. Aid  ($ 2,135)

Balance    $13,440 / 12 months = $1,120 per month, starting in May.

DOES FINANCIAL AID INCLUDE MY TEXTBOOKS?

If awarded Financial Aid, textbooks and iPads are not provided by Orange Lutheran High School. We ask that families plan ahead and purchase their own school supplies for the fall semester.
