SUMMER SCHOOL

Orange Lutheran High School’s Summer School provides relevant classes to students who have a need to remediate grades to meet graduation requirements. If you are looking to remediate a grade in a class, Summer School or Orange Lutheran Online (OLO) courses are appropriate. If you are looking to advance in your coursework, including taking prerequisites for honors-level courses, you must take the course through OLO. No classes for advancement are offered on campus.

Course registration is facilitated by FACTS for all students. Students who do not attend Orange Lutheran will have a FACTS account created on their behalf unless they currently attend another school that utilizes FACTS.

Upon registration, both parent and student will receive a confirmation email and the course will be added to your FACTS account. A week prior to the start of your course(s), you will receive an additional email with details about your course instructor, room number, check-in time, and book list. If you do not receive these emails or have questions about Summer School, please contact Kristi Bowers, Director of Summer School, at kristi.bowers@lhsoc.org or 714-998-5151 ext. 542 for more information.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

Course Payment Policy

All courses must be paid in full before the first day of class, otherwise, the student will not be permitted to attend. This includes the course fee ($500), FACTS Account Establishment Fee ($20, if applicable), and Late Fee ($25, if registration is submitted after June 17 for Session 1 courses or after July 7 for Session 2 courses).

FACTS Account Establishment

Course registration is processed through FACTS. Current Orange Lutheran families will see the course registration fee and late fee (if applicable) on their FACTS account. If the student is currently enrolled at a school that does not utilize FACTS, an account will be created on their behalf and a $20 Account Establishment Fee will be assessed. If the student is enrolled at a school that uses FACTS, Orange Lutheran must be added as a school to the account to complete registration.

Health

Health will be offered online through OLO. Please visit the OLO page for more information.

Theology (1, 2, 3, 4)

Both semesters of Theology courses will be available for remediation during either of the two summer school sessions. However, only one semester may be remediated per summer school session. Due to the independent study nature of the Theology summer course, the highest maximum remediation grade earned can be no higher than a C. Students are required to attend class on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. Tuesday and Thursday are flex days during which students will work from home. In some instances, students may be required to attend class on Tuesday and Thursday as determined by the teacher and based on individual student needs.
